John Adams and his wife. John was a tailor whose business expanded in the 1940s to become a grocers shop.

Robert Herbert, mason, demolishing the old thatched Lowriewell Cottage, Town Yetholm - and then rebuilding and slating it c.1905.
Andrew Blythe, one-armed schoolteacher and session clerk. After his death he left money to pay for the stained-glass windows in the kirk (perhaps the most attractive such windows in the Borders) and also to install the chiming clock in the kirk tower.

Mr Christie, Skaffy Douglas and Croxy Douglas. The two Douglas brother were well known characters in the village. Skaffy, as his nick-name suggests, was the village dustman.
